These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of html.contact, a service operated by 854 Labs LLC, an Indiana limited liability company (“html.contact”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, using the service, or continuing to use the service after an update, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
html.contact provides form backend services for static, AI-built, and no-code websites. Customers can create forms, configure allowed domains, verify recipient emails, receive submissions in a dashboard, optionally store one attachment, send notification emails, export data, and use documented API features.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use html.contact. You may not use the service for or on behalf of children, or to collect children’s data.
If you use html.contact for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Accounts
You are responsible for your account, credentials, users, forms, API keys, and activity under your account.
You must:
- Provide accurate account and billing information.
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Keep private API keys secret.
- Never place
hc_live_keys in browser code. - Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Public hc_pub_ form keys are designed to be used in browser HTML. Private hc_live_ API keys are not.
Customer Content And Form Data
You control the forms you create, the fields you ask visitors to submit, the domains you allow, and the recipients you configure.
You are responsible for:
- Your forms, websites, notices, labels, and consent flows.
- What data you ask visitors to submit.
- Verifying recipient emails.
- Configuring allowed domains.
- Testing forms before production use.
- Exporting or deleting data you no longer need.
- Using the service only for lawful, non-sensitive, non-regulated workloads.
html.contact is an endpoint service. It does not automatically embed cookies, trackers, scripts, or banners on your website.
Prohibited Data And Conduct
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. You may not use html.contact for HIPAA/PHI, payment card numbers, SSNs, government IDs, passwords, children’s data, GLBA, FERPA, PCI, or similar sensitive or regulated workloads.
We may suspend, limit, disable, or remove forms, submissions, API keys, or accounts that violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, law, security rules, or operational limits.
Allowed Domains And Delivery
html.contact uses allowed-domain checks, source-header checks, recipient verification, spam screening, honeypot checks, rate limits, and usage limits.
Source headers such as Origin and Referer are browser-source signals, not cryptographic proof. Requests without matching source signals may be rejected unless direct/API posts are explicitly enabled for the form.
Notification emails are sent through Cloudflare Email. Provider acceptance is not guaranteed inbox delivery. The dashboard submission record is the durable record.
Attachments
html.contact supports one attachment up to 4 MB per valid submission at launch.
Attachments are user-submitted and untrusted. html.contact does not provide malware scanning at launch. You should scan downloaded attachments with your own security tools before opening them.
If you were not expecting an attachment, or your form is not intended to accept multipart/form-data, do not open unexpected files.
Billing, Cancellation, And Refunds
Paid plans are month-to-month subscriptions through Stripe. Stripe may provide checkout, billing, invoices, payment-method management, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellation tools.
If you cancel a paid subscription, access continues through the end of the paid billing period, then the account may downgrade to Free limits.
The first paid subscription payment is refundable within 7 days on request to support@html.contact. After that, payments are non-refundable except where required by law or at html.contact’s discretion.
Taxes, payment processing, chargebacks, failed payments, and billing-provider requirements may affect access to paid features.
Availability And Changes
html.contact is provided without a formal service-level agreement at launch. The service may be interrupted, delayed, limited, changed, suspended, or discontinued.
We may modify features, limits, APIs, pricing, plans, or documentation. If changes are material, we will provide notice by email, in-app notice, or another reasonable method.
Backups And Data Loss
Submission metadata stored in D1 has platform-level point-in-time recovery and internal restore procedures. Attachments are stored privately in R2, but html.contact does not currently offer a formal attachment backup/restore SLA.
You are responsible for exporting data you need to keep independently.
Third-Party Services
html.contact relies on third-party services and subprocessors. See Subprocessors. Third-party services may have their own terms, policies, outages, limits, and security practices.
Data Processing Agreements
We do not publish a self-serve DPA at launch. If your organization needs a DPA, email legal@html.contact.
Security Reports
Security reports should go to security@html.contact. You must follow the vulnerability disclosure rules on the Security page.
Ownership
We own html.contact, including the service, software, documentation, design, trademarks, and related intellectual property. You retain ownership of your customer content and form submissions, subject to the rights needed for us to provide, secure, support, and improve the service.
If you send feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, html.contact is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, free from harmful components, or that emails will always reach an inbox.
Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, html.contact will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, html.contact’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to html.contact for the service during the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) 100 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless html.contact from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your forms, websites, customer content, use of the service, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of another party’s rights.
Governing Law And Venue
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any legal action or proceeding must be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Hendricks County, Indiana, or, if federal jurisdiction exists, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
